How to get rid of Halloween candy!

Some dentists are buying Halloween candy for $1 per pound. Your kid gets the money, and the candy gets sent to soldiers overseas. It's called -- wait for it -- Halloween Candy Buy Back. If you visit the site, you can enter your zip code to see if there are any dentists or orthodontists participating in the program.

So our soldiers get cavities on top of having to dodge bullets and landmines....hmmm.

This is a great idea!  Our soldiers are missing things that remind them of home.  They have it rough over there and little things like this mean so much to them.  My husband, cousin, and a few friends are all vets.  They really loved receiving care packages of anything from home.  Maybe we could all send a big envelope of letters to the troops in our lives letting them know how much we appreciate them.

When my kids were little I'd take most of it to work and it would VANISH fast.

My son weighed his stash of candy from tonight and last night (church harvest festival).  7 pounds!!!  Although he loves money, I think he loves candy more.  I don't think $7 would be enough to convince him to sell his candy.  My oldest daughter, on the other hand...she would jump at the chance!  Checking now to see if we had a local dentist doing this!  Thanks for the tip!

I send it to work with my hubby and also freeze some. We all LOVE Snickers bars. Nothing like a frozen mini Snickers bar on a hot July day!

We did this last year. A dentist in Melbourne gave the kids a light up toothbrush, $1 per pound and a ticket for a free happy meal. My daughter loved it. We are taking a pound Monday (she is keeping 2 1/2 pounds - yikes).

Awesome.  Thanks for the website.  There's a dentist right down the street doing this and I am excited!
